The Leadership Series is made up of four – 1-day programs, each focusing on a specific area of leadership development. A typical organizational intervention has a starting point or baseline to determine a course of action to a specific problem or opportunity. A follow up review, after the solution is implemented providing an assessment of the improvements brought about through the coaching initiative.

The following is a brief explanation for each of the 1-day programs that address these important competencies of leadership.

The series addresses:

The Emotionally Intelligent Leader

A 1-day program that begins with ‘the EI Experience’, an exercise that takes the participant through an examination of the effects of emotions.

Participants will:

  • Explore the neuroscience of emotions and emotional intelligence,
  • Examine tools and techniques for effectively asking for, and responding to, feedback,
  • Explore techniques for developing self and other awareness,
  • Examine how we can use reactive and proactive techniques to build our resilience and effectively manage strong emotions, and
  • Learn approaches for facilitating engagement with others.

The Engaging Leader

This is a 1-day program that teaches leaders how to use their emotional intelligence to be a more engaging leader. The engaging leader has the ability to influence others to engage with their team and commit to contributing to the organization’s mission.

Participants will:

  • Discuss what employee engagement is, how it’s typically measured and why it’s important to organizational performance,
  • Examine feedback on engaging leadership competencies and determine leadership behaviors you could demonstrate to enhance staff motivation and engagement, and
  • Practice applying models and techniques for enhancing individual staff motivation and engagement at work.

The Resilient Leader

A 1-day program focusing on helping leaders develop resilience to face increasing amount of stress in the workplace. Resilience is one’s ability to manage and revere from stress and crisis.

Participants will:

  • Explore the neuroscience of emotions and emotional intelligence
  • Study our emotional intelligence assessment results and how to boost them
  • Practice tools and techniques to build our own and others’ resilience.

The Mindful Leader

A 1-day program that brings neuroscience to a practical level, allowing the individual to bring mindfulness and emotional intelligence together. An examination of emotional intelligence explains a number of attributes that connect with Mindfulness and the ability to be present and in the moment when making decisions. The objective of mindfulness is to awaken our mental, emotional, and physical processes.

Participants will:

  • Explore how neuroscience connects mindfulness and human emotions
  • Discover the practices of mindfulness that leads to self-awareness
  • Examine the differences between reacting and responding
  • Explore the application of mindfulness to leadership
